Key Personnel

Dianne E. Reed, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of CADEkids Before joining CADEkids in January 2008, Dr. Reed was Director of the Office of Budget and Program Evaluation for the City of Philadelphia (2004-08). Previously she served as a Senior Manager in the national public sector management consulting practice of KPMG, including leading 15,000 hours of strategic planning for Milton Hershey School and Kamehameha School (1996-04). She also led the Southeastern Division of the Pennsylvania Economy League, which generated more than 130 policy studies during her tenure (1985-1994). She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University (1974) and a Masters of Government Administration from the Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania (1985).

   

Douglas Alderfer, M.Ed., serves as CADEkids’ Deputy Executive Director (since 2004) and also as Program Director. Mr. Alderfer is responsible for preparation and stewardship of grant proposals to corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Mr. Alderfer supervises CADEkids’ school-based staff of six Prevention Specialists by conducting weekly staff meetings, coordinating staff development training programs, reviewing paperwork, and conducting site visits to evaluate the specialists’ performance.

   

Marla Block, MAT, Assistant Program Director and Prevention Specialist, provides classroom-based instruction and also serves as Assistant Program Director. Ms. Block’s master’s degree focused on differential academic achievement of American boys and girls. She joined CADEkids in 2005.

   

Bikim Brown, Prevention Specialist, is beginning his third year with CADEkids, provides classroom-based instruction. Mr. Brown is also committed to after-school youth support programs, helping to develop a curriculum for children with emotional or behavioral problems and teaching the fundamentals of fencing, lacrosse, and kick boxing. Mr. Brown joined CADEkids in 2007.

   

Randolph Moton, Prevention Specialist, provides classroom-based instruction. Mr. Moton also facilitates after school programs at Police Athletic League centers, and has worked in youth support services for more than 12 years. Mr. Moton joined CADEkids in 2005.

   

Elvis Rosado, Prevention Specialist, is a native Spanish speaker providing classroom-based instruction. Mr. Rosado’s former professional experience as a substance abuse counselor acutely informs his work. A resident of Philadelphia’s Kensington area, he is well acquainted with the neighborhood challenges and the character strength it takes to overcome adversity. Mr. Rosado joined CADEkids in 2008.

   

Antoine Smith, Prevention Specialist, provides classroom-based instruction. Mr. Smith, with an associate’s degree from Community College of Philadelphia, has experience as an after-school group leader for academic support and has developed a digital-imaging curriculum. Mr. Smith joined CADEkids in 2005.
