Dear Ms. Reed:

The CADE program has been an integral component of the student support program at Stetson Middle School for six months. I cannot stress enough how very much we are in need of the services it provides.

Our present enrollment here at Stetson is approximately one thousand children. Currently we have one counselor and one bi-lingual counseling assistant who service our students. In a school where many of our students deal with issues related to substance dependency, dysfunctional family lives as well as those issues endemic to pre-adolescent children, a program such as CADE is a valued service. On a weekly basis, a group of our students receives services from this organization. Through CADE, our students have an opportunity to receive mentoring and counseling services and to have an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with their peers relative to issues which are relevant to them. In terms of our CSAP program, the CADE program has been an important intervention.

I heartily endorse continuation of this program at Stetson Middle School. As I have repeatedly indicated, the CADE program is an essential and valuable resource for our students which we desperately need.
