David Montgomery Summer Library Series
Named in honor of long-time supporter and former Philadelphia Phillies President, the David Montgomery Summer Library Series allows prevention specialists to connect with students during the summer months. These stand-alone sessions allow students and families to opt into lessons and activities on core CADEkids topics as they see fit. These programs reached 60 students across two libraries during the Summer of 2023.
CADEkids After-School
In response to community feedback illustrating a need for safe, educational, out of school time programming for students, CADEkids launched an after-school program. Beginning in the Spring of 2023, CADEkids partnered with the Community Center at Visitation and CCV Scholars to facilitate two Too Good for Violence Curriculum classes. Garnering positive feedback from students and families, CADEkids is creating more opportunities to bring our programs to students outside of school time. In the fall of 2023, CADEkids continued its after-school partnership with the Community Center at VIsitation and expanded it to also include two days a week at the McPherson Square Library.
CADEkids Middle School Summer Camp
This past summer, CADEkids launched its inaugural summer camp program. The program extends far beyond conventional summer camp activities. It incorporates a series of educational lessons on vital topics such as conflict resolution, impulse control, bolstering self-esteem, and various other essential life skills. The program seamlessly integrates interactive games and immersive activities. These engaging methods not only add an element of fun but also allow the students to apply and internalize the skills they learn.
